Christian Brothers-White Brandy

Christian Brothers is a collaborative project from Inland Empire MC, Sean Chris and producer Omega.  The album is a breath of fresh air in this current game of hip hop. The album starts off with the track "Sippin" a slow dusted track with a guitar riff that I found infectious. Another stand out track is "Swap Meet Swag" an ode to swap meet and flea market fashion... done with style. Omega switches up the production on the album in a variety of ways, it never sounds one dimentional. One cut for instance called "Paid Dues" reminds me of the early 90's west coast feel of producers DJ Pooh, and Sir Jinx but at the same time not sounding outdated. Another great track is "West Up" an upbeat soulful dedication to the Golden State we call home. Other standouts are "Commissary" "N2Deep", and "Momma". Sean Chris's style is raw, humorous and grimy, doused with alcohol and peppered with substance abuse but done with fine fashion. By the time we get to the closing track "They Die" one of my favorites, he gets dark and serious as Sean explains that in time we all have to meet our maker, but also hoping to fulfill goals in life. I found this album very solid all the way through lyrically and musically, definitely worth a listen...and a shot or two.                                                                                                                        -Mister T    5 out of 5 bombs.
